The sea.

This is the delightful page which arrived this morning from Cobi.

Cobi told me in her accompanying letter that she found the topic hard. The page she has produced is a lovely interpretation of the sea. Full of texture, she has used velvet and satin as well as dyed scrim to portray the foam caused by waves.

This is the back of the page. A rather beautiful piece of what might hand-dyed fabric.

Inside the envelope, I found this lovely postcard of Leiden. The buildings on the bank of the canal are really interesting.
Thanks so much for my new page, Cobi.

  1. Hi Mandy I'm glad the page arrived save and sound and that you like the page. And yes, that is a piece of hand dyed cotton for the back. I guess it's one of my snow dyed pieces from last year's winter.

  2. Thanks so much for letting me know. The snow dyeing certainly turned out very well. The piece you used for the back of my page is a really attractive example.
